Luxury phinisi charter: the whole yacht, 2D1N to 4D3N

Updated 27 October 2026

A private charter hires the whole yacht and is priced per yacht, not per person. 3D2N is IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) on Voyage 1 for 1 to 12 guests and IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) on Voyage 2 for 1 to 10 guests. Guide, documentation and park fees are extra on a private charter.

The whole yacht, priced by length of stay

Each yacht has its own rate list, from a day charter to 4D3N. Voyage 1 has one band, 1 to 12 guests, and adds IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399) for each guest from the 13th to the 16th. Voyage 2 has two bands: 1 to 10 guests, then 11 to 16.

A day charter is the simplest line: one rate per yacht for 1 to 16 guests, to Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island and back to Labuan Bajo the same day. The three overnight lengths add the nights and the stops that go with them.

Every figure below is a 2026 rate for the whole yacht, not a price per person. Park tickets, flights, hotels, insurance and crew gratuities sit outside it and are paid by you.

One grid: each guest's share, 2 to 16 guests

Divide the yacht rate by the party and the share falls with every guest who joins. On Voyage 2 the eleventh guest moves the yacht into its upper band, yet the share at eleven is no higher than at ten.

A party of four still pays for the whole yacht; a smaller party is not charged less. Two guests who want a suite and nothing more are better served by an open-trip seat on the suites page. Shares are rounded to the nearest ten thousand rupiah.

A yacht of the same class if yours cannot sail

If the yacht cannot sail, we arrange a yacht of the same class on the same date at no extra cost, or a full refund. The replacement, its date and its suites reach you in writing before you travel. The booking is with PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, so the replacement or the refund is ours to arrange.

Weather is a separate matter, and a procedural one. Stops and their order follow weather, current and tide, and the captain decides them on the day. A changed route is not a yacht that cannot sail.

Message, quote, deposit: how a private booking runs

It starts with one message giving the guest count and the dates. A written quote follows, naming the yacht, the band, the length and what sits outside the rate. Then comes the deposit of 50 percent, with the balance due 30 days before sailing.

The brief is what we need before the deposit and again before boarding:

  • the number of guests and their ages;
  • diets and allergies;
  • the arrival flight of each guest;
  • a first suite assignment, which we adjust with you.

Whoever answers your first message handles the file through to pickup. The guide and documentation appear only if you ask for them. It includes 11 percent VAT, so the figure shown is the figure you pay.

Deposit, balance and the cost of changing your mind

The deposit is 50 percent of the quote and the balance is due 30 days before sailing; the full tables are on the how-to-reserve page. Cancel 60 days or more before sailing and 50 percent is refunded; cancel 30 to 59 days before and 25 percent is refunded. Inside 30 days, nothing is refunded.

A change of date costs IDR 500,000 when it is requested 14 to 29 days before sailing, and nothing at 30 days or more. The organiser pays; we do not offer split payments among guests.

2026 rates run to 31 December 2026; rates for 2027 are sent in writing before you pay a deposit. Sixteen guests is the ceiling on both yachts, and the comparison page sets out how each sleeps its sixteen.

FAQ

What is the difference between the quoted price and the final invoice?

The invoice repeats the quote. It shows the rate for the yacht, band and length, which includes 11 percent VAT, and lists what you pay separately: park tickets, flights, hotel, insurance and gratuities. Guide and documentation are added only if you ask for them.

Are there hidden fees or surprise costs?

The costs outside the rate are listed on this page: park tickets and ranger fees, flights, hotel, insurance, crew gratuities and alcohol. Nothing is added without a written quote.

What is the maximum group size for a Komodo private charter?

Sixteen on either Lamain yacht. Voyage 1 reaches 16 only with every extra bed; Voyage 2 sleeps 16 in 8 suites.

What is the minimum group size for a charter?

One guest. A private charter is priced per yacht, so 1 to 12 guests pay the same IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) for 3D2N on Voyage 1, and 1 to 10 pay IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) on Voyage 2.

Are Komodo National Park fees included in the price?

No. KEXI's park package covers the government entrance ticket (PP 36/2024), the ranger and the local levies, and it comes on top of the boat price unless your written quote lists it as included. The entry ticket is IDR 250,000 for foreign guests, IDR 50,000 for Indonesian guests on weekdays and IDR 75,000 on weekends, per person.

What happens if weather forces itinerary changes?

The captain decides on the day, by weather and current, and the stops or their order can change. A yacht that cannot sail at all is covered by the replacement guarantee above.

What deposits or payment terms apply?

A deposit of 50 percent confirms the booking and the balance is due 30 days before sailing. The organiser pays; we do not split payments among guests. Payment methods are listed on the how-to-book page.
