Three days on a private luxury yacht in Komodo
Updated 27 October 2026
The 3D2N route adds Manta Point on day 2 and Sebayur Island on day 3 to the 2D1N stops. The whole yacht is IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) on Voyage 1 for 1 to 12 guests and IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) on Voyage 2 for 1 to 10; park fees, guide and documentation are extra.
The 3D2N timeline, hour of light by hour of light
Voyage 1 and Voyage 2 sail the same private 3D2N stops: Kelor, Menjerite Point and Kalong on day 1; Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point on day 2; Sebayur Island and the return on day 3.
Daylight shapes the itinerary. Sunrise at Padar falls between 05:31 and 06:18 across the year, and the sunset at Kalong between 17:49 and 18:27. For a first-light Padar, guests leave the yacht about 65 minutes before sunrise, and a head torch helps. At Kalong the bats leave about 15 minutes after sunset and stream out for roughly 30 minutes, so the yacht is in position before the sun goes down.
Day 2 is the fullest. Komodo Island is a ranger walk in closed shoes. Taka Makassar is a sandbar that shows only at low tide. Manta Point is a drift along a reef in current, guided, with a life jacket advised for the weaker swimmers; sightings depend on the current. Tide and current decide whether Manta Point or Taka Makassar comes first.
Day 3 brings Sebayur, a swim and snorkel stop, and the return to Labuan Bajo. Where the yacht spends each night depends on the weather and the captain's decision that day. The captain sets the order of the stops on the day, because weather and current decide.

Suites against headcount at six, twelve and sixteen
Beds, not seats, decide the count. Voyage 1 has six suites, and two guests to each queen bed makes 12 (6 suites × 2). The 13th to the 16th take the extra singles in Osaka and Athena and the two extra beds in Bern: 12 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 16. Voyage 2 has eight suites of two, 8 × 2 = 16, and no extra beds.
Suite assignment at six. Three couples, or a principal with five guests, need three suites: on Voyage 1, Paris for the principal with Athena and Praha for the others; on Voyage 2, Borobudur, Eiffel and one queen suite.
At twelve. Each Voyage 1 suite holds a couple on a queen bed and no extra bed is used, so twelve is the yacht at its base rate. On Voyage 2, twelve fill six of the eight suites and leave two empty.
At sixteen. Voyage 2 uses every suite at two guests. Voyage 1 needs every extra bed: four in Bern, and a third guest each in Osaka and Athena. Ratio line at sixteen: 8 on the crew list of Voyage 1, 13 on Voyage 2.

The 3D2N fare by party size on each yacht
The yacht is priced by band. Voyage 1 keeps its base rate up to 12 guests and adds IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399) for each guest from the 13th; Voyage 2 has one rate to 10 guests and a second from the 11th.
| Guests | Voyage 1, whole yacht, 2026 rates | Voyage 1 per person | Voyage 2, whole yacht, 2026 rates | Voyage 2 per person |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) | IDR 23,330,000 (≈ USD 1,431) | IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) | IDR 33,330,000 (≈ USD 2,045) |
| 12 | IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) | IDR 11,670,000 (≈ USD 716) | IDR 220,000,000 (≈ USD 13,497) | IDR 18,330,000 (≈ USD 1,125) |
| 16 | IDR 166,000,000 (≈ USD 10,184) | IDR 10,380,000 (≈ USD 637) | IDR 220,000,000 (≈ USD 13,497) | IDR 13,750,000 (≈ USD 844) |
On this route Voyage 1 costs less for any party up to 16, while Voyage 2 brings a larger crew and the king suites. Rates are 2026 rates for the whole yacht, per yacht and not per person, and the park ticket, flights, hotel, insurance and crew gratuities are paid by you. The charter page holds the other lengths.
Where a shared sailing and a private one part ways
A shared sailing is a different product with its own route. On Voyage 2 the open-trip route is Kelor, Rinca and Kalong on day 1; Padar, Pink Beach, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Siaba Besar on day 2; and Sebayur or Kanawa on day 3. The private 3D2N is the route above, on both yachts.
On an open trip, suites are sold by the seat, the guide and the photo and video documentation are included, and other guests are on board. Voyage 1 sails on Monday and Friday; the next date is Friday, 11 December 2026. Voyage 2 sails on Fridays and has no open-trip date before Friday, 7 May 2027.
A private charter reverses each point: the whole yacht, your own guest list, and no guide or documentation unless you ask. For one family or one team, the private charter is the right product. For two travellers who want a suite and some company, the departures page lists the seats.
What each extra night adds to the 3D2N
Three days is the length at which the main stops fit without rushing: Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and Manta Point, plus Kalong and Sebayur.
Take a night away and you have the two-day charter, which loses Manta Point and Sebayur and costs IDR 110,000,000 (≈ USD 6,748) for the whole of Voyage 1. Add a night and you have the four-day charter, with Gili Lawa Darat, Siaba Besar and Mawan Island, at IDR 170,000,000 (≈ USD 10,429) on Voyage 1. On Voyage 2 the same two steps are IDR 118,000,000 (≈ USD 7,239) and IDR 286,000,000 (≈ USD 17,546) up to 10 guests.
A fourth day buys time more than stops. For a party with children, a grandparent or a long list of business calls, the third day is where the pace stops pressing; the fourth makes it a matter of choice.

FAQ
How many days do you need in Komodo?
Three days and two nights cover the classic stops, Manta Point and Sebayur included. Two days reach the main stops with a night at Kalong, and four add Gili Lawa Darat, Siaba Besar and Mawan Island. No route runs longer than four days.
Will you see a Komodo dragon?
Rangers lead the Komodo Island walk. Komodo dragons are wild; the park cannot guarantee a sighting. No walk is made without a park ranger, and closed shoes are required.
How much does a Komodo Island trip cost?
A 3D2N private charter is IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) on Voyage 1 for up to 12 guests and IDR 200,000,000 (≈ USD 12,270) on Voyage 2 for up to 10. The park ticket, IDR 250,000 per foreign guest, is extra.
Can we change the order of the stops?
The captain sets the order on the day by weather, current and tide; tide and current decide whether Manta Point or Taka Makassar comes first. Name the stop that matters most in the brief and we pass it on.
What does 3D2N cost for 12 guests?
For 12 guests the whole yacht is IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) on Voyage 1, IDR 11,670,000 (≈ USD 716) each, or IDR 220,000,000 (≈ USD 13,497) on Voyage 2, IDR 18,330,000 (≈ USD 1,125) each. Both are 2026 rates.
