Lamain Voyage 1 is a 34.39 m phinisi with 6 suites; Lamain Voyage 2 is a 41.5 m phinisi with 8 suites. Each takes up to 16 guests on a private charter or an open trip from Labuan Bajo, booked through PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, the booking partner and not the owner.
Two yachts under one booking office
Two phinisi sail from Labuan Bajo under the Lamain name, and one office books both. Lamain Voyage 1 is the shorter and less expensive of the pair, with six suites, a base rate covering 12 guests and an extra-guest rate up to 16. Lamain Voyage 2 is longer, with eight suites, two rate bands and no extra beds at all.
A principal travelling with a small party has all the yacht required on Voyage 1, at the lower rate. Sixteen guests who each want a bed in a suite for two are better placed on Voyage 2, with its eight suites and longer crew list.
On a private charter either yacht is yours alone for the length you book. On an open trip each sells its suites to separate parties on fixed dates, with a guide and documentation included. The two are priced differently, as the charter and cabins pages explain.

Best for: Parties of 11 to 16 who want a suite for every pair and the longer crew list.

Thirty-four metres and forty-one, side by side
Voyage 1 measures 34.39 m by 5.6 m. Voyage 2 measures 41.5 m by 7.9 m. Both are built of ironwood and teak, both cruise at 10 to 12 knots, and each carries a tender: a Yamaha 40 HP dinghy on Voyage 1 and a Yamaha 50 hp dinghy on Voyage 2.
Voyage 2 has a Yanmar 6HYM-wet engine of 500 hp, 9,000 litres of fuel and a water maker of 8,000 litres a day. Voyage 1 carries 8,000 litres of water and 5,000 litres of fuel.
Capacity is 16 guests on each yacht.

Saloons, dining decks and one jacuzzi on each yacht
Voyage 1 has an outdoor dining table under an awning, an air-conditioned indoor dining room, an indoor lounge with an L-shaped sofa, an outdoor bar and a foredeck with sun pads and bean bags. Voyage 2 has a saloon with a bar and sofas along the windows, outdoor dining under a canopy with bench seating, and deck seating around a wooden table.
Both carry a kayak, a paddle boat and snorkelling equipment, free to use, and both have local Wi-Fi on board; no speed or coverage is promised. Each yacht has exactly one jacuzzi: on the private balcony of Paris on Voyage 1 and of Borobudur on Voyage 2.
On a private charter these spaces belong to the party alone; on an open trip they are shared with other guests.

The owner's crew, our booking
PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia (NIB 1805260128363) books, takes payment and arranges pickup; the Lamain crew works for the owner. The yachts, the crew and the safety equipment are the owner's.
Ratio line: Voyage 1 sails with 7 crew and a cruise director, 8 on the crew list for 16 guests, so two guests for each person on the list. Voyage 2 sails with 12 crew and a cruise director, 13 for the same 16, or 1.2 guests each.

FAQ
What is a phinisi made of?
Both Lamain yachts are phinisi built of ironwood and teak. Length, beam and engine are on each yacht's own page.
Is a phinisi safe for a large party?
Each yacht carries a full safety list. Voyage 1 lists one life raft for 25 persons and 4 life buoys; Voyage 2 lists two rafts of 20 to 25 persons each and 8 life buoys. Both list life jackets, fire extinguishers, a first-aid kit, radios and AIS.
Who owns the Lamain yachts?
The owner runs both yachts and employs the crew. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia (NIB 1805260128363) is the booking partner: we sell the trips, take payment and arrange pickup. We do not own the yachts and never write as the owner.
Do both yachts have a jacuzzi?
Each has exactly one. On Voyage 1 it is on the private balcony of the Paris master suite; on Voyage 2 it is on the private balcony of the Borobudur master suite. No other suite on either yacht has a jacuzzi, and no other is listed with a balcony.
