Kelor Island, the short first stop
Updated 27 October 2026
Kelor is a short hill walk and swim on the first afternoon of the 2D1N, 3D2N and 4D3N, close to Labuan Bajo. The climb takes 15 to 30 minutes to a viewpoint over the bay, and it eases a party into the route before Kalong at dusk.
A fifteen-minute hill walk
Kelor opens the route: a small hilly islet close to Labuan Bajo, with a steep, dry path to a viewpoint over the bay. The climb takes 15 to 30 minutes and is rated moderate for the gradient, not the length.
It is the first stretch of the legs after boarding, and the swim from the shore follows it.
Shoes with grip help on the path. Guests who prefer to stay below can swim from the shore or remain on the yacht.

Menjerite Point, also spelled Manjarite
On the same afternoon the 2D1N and 3D2N of both yachts stop at Menjerite Point, for a swim or a snorkel.
Voyage 2's 4D3N and open trip stop at Rinca on day 1; Voyage 1 stops at Menjerite Point. If the stop matters to your party, say so in the brief.
Have a mask and snorkel to hand for it. Both yachts carry snorkelling equipment, free to use.
Why the first afternoon is short
Day 1 has a sequence: pickup in Labuan Bajo, boarding, lunch on board, and then Kelor. The route puts Kelor, Menjerite Point and Kalong in the one afternoon.
That is why Kelor is short, and why Kalong at sunset and dinner on board follow it. A 15 to 30 minute walk fits between lunch and the evening; a longer trek would not.
Arrive in Labuan Bajo one day before sailing. A delayed flight then costs the party a night in town, not the first stop.
The island as the tender approaches
A steep green hill rises straight out of the water, with a strip of sand and shallows in front of it: the island the party sees from the tender.
The hill is the stop. Nothing else on Kelor needs a plan, and the swim afterwards is short.
The park ticket is not in the fare. It is IDR 250,000 for foreign guests, IDR 50,000 for Indonesian guests on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends, per person. One KEXI park package per guest bundles the entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day under PP 36/2024) with the ranger fee and local levies, and it comes on top of the boat price unless your written quote lists it as included. The 2D1N page shows the full first day.
