A luxury day charter on the Komodo route
Updated 27 October 2026
A day charter takes the whole yacht to Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island and back to Labuan Bajo the same day. Voyage 1 is IDR 80,000,000 (≈ USD 4,908) and Voyage 2 is IDR 95,000,000 (≈ USD 5,828) for the whole yacht; park fees are extra. PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia books it.
One day, three stops, the yacht to yourselves
The day route is the same three stops on both yachts: Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island. Neither yacht adds a fourth.
The day begins with a pickup in Labuan Bajo. The time and the meeting point come with your booking, and the passport or ID of each guest is the one paper to carry. Boarding follows, then breakfast on board. The day charter has three meals: breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.
Padar is a walk of 25 to 45 minutes to the ridge viewpoint over three bays, and shoes with grip matter because parts of the path are loose and steep. Pink Beach is a swim and a snorkel from pale pink sand. Komodo Island is a ranger-led walk, never an unguided one, and closed shoes are required. Komodo dragons are wild; the park cannot guarantee a sighting.
Lunch and the afternoon snack are served on board between the stops. The yacht is back in Labuan Bajo the same day. The captain sets the order of the stops on the day, because weather and current decide.
The brief for a day charter
- The number of guests and the name of the person who leads the party on shore.
- Who will climb Padar and who will wait on board.
- Diets and allergies, passed to the crew before the day.
- Where the party sleeps the night before, so the pickup point is exact.

The stops a single day cannot fit
A day is a loop of three stops, and it leaves out most of the route. Kelor, Menjerite Point, Kalong, Taka Makassar and Manta Point all belong to the longer charters. None of them is on the day route.
Two things are missing by design. There is no night on board, so there is no sunset at Kalong, where the flying foxes leave the mangroves about 15 minutes after the sun goes down. And there is no morning start from an anchorage: the day begins and ends in the harbour.
For a party that wants the sunset and a first light on the water, the two-day charter is the shortest route that includes a night on the yacht. It adds Kelor, Menjerite Point and Kalong on day 1 and Taka Makassar on day 2. Manta Point needs the three-day charter.
If the choice is between a long day and a short night, we say so plainly in the quote and let the party decide.
The day rate for a party of 4, 10 and 16
Each yacht has one day rate, a single band for 1 to 16 guests. The rate is for the whole yacht whether four people or sixteen come aboard, so the cost per person falls as the party grows.
| Guests | Voyage 1, whole yacht, 2026 rates | Voyage 1 per person | Voyage 2, whole yacht, 2026 rates | Voyage 2 per person |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | IDR 80,000,000 (≈ USD 4,908) | IDR 20,000,000 (≈ USD 1,227) | IDR 95,000,000 (≈ USD 5,828) | IDR 23,750,000 (≈ USD 1,457) |
| 10 | IDR 80,000,000 (≈ USD 4,908) | IDR 8,000,000 (≈ USD 491) | IDR 95,000,000 (≈ USD 5,828) | IDR 9,500,000 (≈ USD 583) |
| 16 | IDR 80,000,000 (≈ USD 4,908) | IDR 5,000,000 (≈ USD 307) | IDR 95,000,000 (≈ USD 5,828) | IDR 5,940,000 (≈ USD 364) |
For a party of four the whole yacht is the cost; for sixteen it is shared. Both rates cover the crew, the meals of the day, soft drinks, kayak, paddle boat and snorkelling equipment. Rates are 2026 rates for the whole yacht, per yacht and not per person, and the park ticket, flights, hotel, insurance and crew gratuities are paid by you. On a private charter the guide and the photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. Every length and band is on the charter page.
Who a day on board suits
A principal with one free day between meetings is the usual reader of this page. The party sleeps ashore, so no suite is assigned: the yacht is a deck, a dining table, a crew and a route.
For a family staying at a hotel in Labuan Bajo, the day charter fits a swim and a ranger walk into one date without moving luggage.
It does not suit a party that wants to sleep on the yacht, watch the bats at Kalong or see Manta Point. Those need a night, and the two-day charter is where that begins.
In confidence. The guest list for a day charter goes to the booking office and to the crew list for the sailing permit, and nowhere else. If the principal prefers to travel under the name of an assistant or a company, tell us in the first message and we will note it on the file.
Pickup, return and the park ticket
Pickup in Labuan Bajo is part of the booking, and the time and the meeting point are confirmed in writing. The return to Labuan Bajo the same day carries its own time, given with the quote.
Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. The entry ticket is IDR 250,000 per foreign guest and IDR 50,000 per Indonesian guest on weekdays and IDR 75,000 for Indonesian guests at weekends, and it covers snorkelling. The ranger fee and local levies are not charged on their own: they sit in KEXI's park package with the government ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), and it comes on top of the boat price unless your written quote lists it as included. The park fees page sets out the sum for a party of ten and of sixteen.
The Padar and Komodo walks run with the park rangers whether or not you add a guide.
Arrive in Labuan Bajo the day before. A delayed flight on the morning of a day charter costs the party the whole day, because the route has no slack.
FAQ
Can I take a day trip from Bali to Komodo Island?
The day charter starts and ends in Labuan Bajo, so the flight from Bali, about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, comes the day before. Flying in on the morning of the charter risks the whole day. We advise a night in Labuan Bajo first.
Is a Komodo Island tour worth it?
The day route gives a ranger walk on Komodo Island, a Padar climb and a swim at Pink Beach in one date. The park cannot guarantee a sighting. A party with a night to spare sees Kalong and Manta Point as well.
How much is the entry fee to Komodo Island?
The entry ticket is IDR 250,000 per foreign guest and IDR 50,000 per Indonesian guest on weekdays, IDR 75,000 at weekends. The ranger and local levies are already inside the park package. None of it is in the day rate.
