Private jet to Labuan Bajo: from the runway to the yacht, in order
Updated 27 October 2026
A private jet reaches Labuan Bajo through Komodo International Airport (LBJ). PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, booking partner for the two Lamain yachts, meets the party and drives it to the harbour. Handler, clearance and vehicles are confirmed in writing before wheels-up.
From touchdown to the gangway, in order
This note deals with the ground side of a private-jet arrival. The aircraft, its operator and the flight permissions remain with your own aviation team.
- Landing. The aircraft arrives at Komodo Airport, code LBJ, on Flores.
- Arrival formalities. Immigration, customs and quarantine are dealt with by your handler.
- Ground transfer. Our vehicles carry guests and bags to the harbour in Labuan Bajo.
- Boarding. The Lamain crew receives the party. Suites were assigned before anyone landed.
- Sailing. The yacht leaves once the whole party and its luggage are on board.
We plan the pickup around the arrival time you send us. The yacht is chartered whole, for up to 16 guests, so nobody else is waiting at the gangway.
Komodo International Airport
Komodo Airport (LBJ) is an international airport, with customs, immigration and quarantine on site.
The airport also carries scheduled traffic, so stand space for a private aircraft is something your handler settles with the airport. The aircraft, its operator and the flight permissions stay with your aviation team.
Clearance on arrival
Which documents the handler files for a private flight, and how many hours ahead, is for your handler to confirm with the airport. We ask for the answers in writing before wheels-up. No handler is named in this note and none is recommended.
What to confirm in writing before wheels-up
Four items, each with someone responsible for it.
- Handler. The company that deals with the aircraft at LBJ, and a number that answers on the day. Yours to appoint.
- Clearance on arrival. Whether the party clears at LBJ or at another airport first. Your handler confirms.
- Stand. Parking for the aircraft's type and its length of stay. Your handler confirms it with the airport.
- Vehicles and bags. The number of vehicles and the count of bags. Our side, taken from the brief at the end of this note.
Get each answer by email rather than by phone. A written reply is something an assistant can forward to everyone on the manifest, and it settles a disagreement on the day before one starts.
Vehicles, and the road to the harbour
Airport, hotel and harbour pickup is free and included in the booking. A Toyota HiAce seats up to 12, so a party of 16 needs two before luggage is counted; a larger vehicle is available on request and quoted as its own line.
If the party lands in two aircraft, or in two waves, say so in the brief. A vehicle waiting for a second arrival is far easier to plan than to improvise at the kerb.
Boarding follows arrival. The harbour is where every party boards, whatever the route turns out to be. If the aircraft is late, the written pickup time is the first thing we move, and we send you the new one in writing.
The night before, and the one-page arrival brief
A party that lands in daylight can board the following morning. Where it sleeps in between is covered on the hotels page: partner hotels sell their rooms to us directly, with no booking-platform fee, so you pay the hotel's own price. Staggered flights are the usual reason to book the night before, and the brief below shows us each arrival.
The brief runs to one page. Send it once the aircraft's schedule is fixed, and update it if plans change.
- Names as they appear on passports, one line per guest.
- Flight number or aircraft registration, arrival date, and the time you expect to land.
- Number of guests and number of bags.
- Dietary needs, and any medical note the crew should hold.
- Suite assignment: who sleeps where, from the suite plan on the cabins page.
- Your handler's name and a number that answers.
Passport copies are needed for the sailing permit, so the names on the brief must match the passports exactly.
